Agreement
My Gun Notes is operated by Coda Evolution, 15223 Herriman Blvd, Noblesville, Indiana, US 46060. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Not legal advice
Firearm law summaries, reciprocity information, and trip checks are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not legal advice, may contain errors, and may be out of date the moment a legislature or court acts. Always verify against official state sources or a licensed attorney before travelling with or transporting a firearm. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws. Coda Evolution accepts no liability for decisions made in reliance on information in the app.
Your responsibilities
You must be at least the age of majority in your state of residence and legally permitted to possess any items you record. You are responsible for the accuracy of your own records, for keeping your sign-in credentials and sync passphrase secure, and for whom you share access with. Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose or attempt to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to it.
Your data
Your records belong to you. We claim no ownership of anything you store. Export is free on every plan. How we handle data is covered by the Privacy Policy. If you lose your sync passphrase we cannot recover encrypted data, by design.
Plans and billing
The free plan stores unlimited records on one device. Premium ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) adds encrypted multi-device sync, full insurance reports, valuation tools, alerts, all-state law detail, and unlimited trip checks. New users get a 14-day trial of everything, starting when the first firearm is added. Billing is handled by Stripe. Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until cancelled; cancelling stops future renewals and premium features remain active until the end of the paid period. Where required by law, statutory refund and cooling-off rights apply. Prices may change with notice; a change never affects an already-paid period. Where a lifetime entitlement has been granted (for example through a partner programme), lifetime means the lifetime of the service.
Referral programme
Referral rewards (free premium time or account credit) are promotional, have no cash value, are capped, and may be withheld or revoked in cases of self-referral, fraud, or abuse. We may change or end the programme at any time; earned rewards are honoured.
Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Your local data remains on your device even if the service is unavailable. We may modify features over time; if we ever discontinue the service we will provide reasonable notice and an export window.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coda Evolution is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data you have not backed up or exported. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination your server-side data is deleted; your local data remains yours.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
